Penetrating sealers do an excellent job resisting stains. However, certain substances can cause damage to the sealer strength. Acidics such as vinegar, wines, lemon juice and salad dressings, as well as oil, should not be left on the countertop for an long period of time.
To further protect the surface, it is optional to apply a food grade carnuba wax to the surface a few times per year. When cleaning your countertops, avoid using cleaners with citrus or bleach, which can damage the surface. We recommend using a mild, non-abrasive soap (like Dove or Ivory) and warm water for daily cleaning.
